ALIGNMENT
Understanding covenantal alignment and the pathway to membership
What Is Alignment?
Alignment is not membership. It is not joining an organization or signing up for services. Alignment is covenantal positioning under apostolic governance for the purpose of spiritual maturity, accountability, and Kingdom mission.
When you align with The Fountain, you are entering into relational covenant—a mutual commitment between spiritual father and spiritual son/daughter. This covenant provides:
For the Aligned
- •Spiritual covering and apostolic oversight
- •Accountability structures and governance
- •Mentorship and relational discipleship
- •Access to educational resources
- •Connection to apostolic network
For The Fountain
- •Responsibility to shepherd and guide
- •Commitment to equip and empower
- •Duty to provide spiritual protection
- •Obligation to facilitate growth
- •Mission to release into assignment
Alignment is mutual covenant. It is not one-sided submission, but reciprocal commitment rooted in honor, trust, and Kingdom purpose.
Two Paths of Alignment
Individual Alignment
For leaders, ministers, and believers seeking personal apostolic covering, spiritual formation, and accountability under The Fountain's governance.
Personal apostolic oversight
Mentorship and discipleship
Educational pathways
Network connectivity
Best for: Individual pastors, ministers, prophets, teachers, and marketplace leaders
Institutional Alignment
For churches, ministries, organizations, and institutions seeking apostolic covering, governance oversight, and structural accountability.
Institutional apostolic covering
Governance consultation
Strategic leadership development
Structural accountability
Best for: Local churches, ministries, nonprofits, and Kingdom-focused organizations
Oversight Modalities
Oversight defines how authority, accountability, and counsel function within alignment. The Fountain recognizes two primary oversight modalities, each serving distinct relational and structural purposes.
Horizontal Oversight
Horizontal Oversight is relational and developmental in nature. It is primarily mentor-oriented and advisory, providing counsel, perspective, and apostolic insight without exercising governing authority. Horizontal Oversight does not include institutional jurisdiction or executive decision-making.
This modality is typically appropriate for individuals aligned while serving in another ecclesial house, leaders under existing authority structures, or relational sons whose institutional submission remains elsewhere. Horizontal Oversight prioritizes growth, discernment, and relational accountability without structural control.
Vertical Oversight
Vertical Oversight is apostolic and governing in nature. It provides spiritual covering, accountability, strategic direction, and governance counsel within clearly defined and mutually agreed boundaries. Vertical Oversight is not assumed; it is discerned, articulated, and formally affirmed.
This modality is typically appropriate for independent churches, ministries, or institutions seeking apostolic covering and long-term governance partnership. Vertical Oversight functions collaboratively and never overrides civil law or legal governance structures.
In all cases, oversight is intended to protect, strengthen, and sustain individuals and institutions.
The Sonship Rule
Sonship is organic, not automatic, and discerned, not declared.
Sonship within The Fountain is a relational reality rather than an institutional designation. It is organic, discerned, and cultivated over time through trust, proximity, and shared life. Sonship cannot be self-declared, purchased, or assumed through alignment or financial participation.
Delegates may function as mentees, but sonship emerges only through mutual spiritual recognition between Apostle Butler and the delegate. This relationship is independent of the Core Covenant.
Sonship exists independently of alignment category or oversight modality and does not automatically confer authority, platform, or governance role. It reflects relational depth rather than positional status and is protected from commodification or misuse.
Financial Philosophy
The Fountain operates on the biblical principle found in 2 Corinthians 8-9 regarding freewill giving and covenant partnership. There is a yearly assessment for those who align with The Fountain, which supports the apostolic work, governance structure, and educational mission of the collective.
Financial partnership principles:
- Freewill Giving: Rooted in the principles of 2 Corinthians 8-9, each person gives as they purpose in their heart
- Yearly Assessment: A structured yearly contribution that sustains the collective's mission and operations
- Covenantal: Financial partnership reflects covenant commitment and mutual responsibility
- Stewardship-driven: Resources are used for Kingdom mission, governance, and equipping
- Transparent: Accountable to aligned members and governance
Those who receive spiritual covering, apostolic oversight, and access to The Fountain's resources honor that covenant through consistent financial partnership in accordance with Scripture's teachings on giving.
The C.O.R.E. Covenant
All aligned delegates enter into The Core Covenant—a covenantal framework that articulates the spiritual, relational, and ethical expectations governing alignment with The Fountain.
Connection
Defining the nature and posture of alignment—relational before structural, covenantal before organizational.
Oversight
How apostolic authority, accountability, and care function—providing support, wisdom, and direction without control.
Relational Expectations
Reciprocal responsibilities between The Fountain, the Apostle, and aligned delegates—mutual investment and honor.
Ethical Expectations
Moral, doctrinal, and behavioral standards—lifestyle consistent with biblical character and integrity.
